Background Story

There’s no denying my love for the sea, especially its marine life. Years ago, while walking along the shore, my friends were busy admiring the ocean’s beauty and having fun. But my thoughts were elsewhere—I couldn’t stop wondering how such a beautiful place could be surrounded by so much trash. I was naive then, unsure of what I could do, but I knew I wanted to make a difference. That day sparked a plan to protect the ocean. I began saving money to fund my project, using prize money from academic and research competitions, and even doing extra chores for my family to raise enough funds.

After that, I faced a tough decision: choosing which seawall to begin helping, as many were facing issues at the time. After carefully analyzing all the factors, I chose Phước Hải Fishing Village, Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu Province. As one of Vietnam's busiest tourist destinations, it had become heavily littered, and the government lacked the manpower to manage the overwhelming tourist activity. My first challenge was securing permission from the local authorities to assist with the cleanup. It took two months of back-and-forth, requiring me to present a detailed plan and ensure that my efforts wouldn’t disrupt the tourists. Fortunately, I received their approval, and my 7-day beach cleanup began. During this time, I not only removed trash but also painted signs to raise awareness and encourage others to protect the beach.

Not only self-study, I also want to share my technology knowledge with science lovers and students like me. That's why I participate in many different projects and role.

  • Since May 2024, as Co-Founder and Communications Director at IniFacts, I have dedicated myself to making technology and science knowledge accessible, fostering continuous learning and innovation. On our Facebook platform Link, I carefully curate educational content that resonates with our growing audience. Within just four months, we’ve attracted over 1,200 followers, gained 5,000 views, reached 25,000 users, and received 500+ likes per post. It’s inspiring to see our commitment reflected in this incredible engagement.

  • Previously, as a PRCore member in PRISEE's Division of Knowledge & Practical Training (2023-2024), I collaborated with a 140-member team to connect Vietnamese high school students with experienced researchers in a supportive academic community Link. My role centered on promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, peer mentorship, and research exploration, helping to foster scientific literacy and inspire future researchers. This experience fueled my passion for science communication, a passion I continue to bring to my work at IniFacts.

About Optometric

Participating in a charitable eye examination event for elderly patients in Binh Thuan was a powerful reminder of the value of sharing and connection. I spent the day guiding seniors through the procedures and engaging in conversations that left a lasting impact. Despite being a high school student, I realized that I had the ability to make a real difference. This experience sparked a deep passion for community service within me, filling me with joy and strengthening my determination to keep giving back to society.

In the picture, I got meeting with and assisting the Chairman of the Optical Ho Chi Minh Association while organizing the event with him and the team.
